How can I hook my camcorder to my computer through a/v jacks so I can view the videos on my computer screen?

I have a Hi8 camcorder and i want to be able to hook it to my computer so i cant watch it on there and copy the video so i can save the videos on my computer. I also need a program that will rip the videos (or will fraps work)?
