Did my computer overheat and turn off, or go into a power save mode?
turkiesandwich asked:
I have a compaq laptop that is FAMOUS for overheating and turning off. I just got it back from the repair place, and I figured I would run my games overnight to see if they actually fixed it this time (they’ve been yanking my chain for a while now…). So I left my computer on for a few days like I normally would. No problems. Last night I left my computer on WITHOUT a game running, and went to bed, and when I woke up this morning all the lights on it were off except the power light, which was blinking. I pressed it, and it brought me to the windows screen saying my username and how many programs I had running. It did not appear to lose my data, but was stone cold like it hadn’t been running all night. Did my computer overheat and turn off like it used to, or did it go into some power save mode that hasn’t made itself known until now?
